THEATRE WORKSHOP OF NANTUCKET SEEKS INTERNS FOR 2018 SEASON! 

Avaliable: Stage Management, Technical Theatre, Wardrobe/ASM 

Stage Management 

Stage Management intern will work alongside the Production Manager/Stage Manager and Company Manager to run rehearsals, performances, and serve as the hub of communication between all departments. Stage management interns are given the opportunity to Assistant Stage Manage main stage productions and call cues for certain performances, giving them a chance to build experience, work with professional directors and actors, and add professional credits to their resume. Intern will also work with the administrative staff by selling tickets and distributing promotional materials.

Desired Skills

Previous Stage Management or Assistant Stage Management experience, exceptional organization and communication skills, and an ability to adapt to fast changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Proficiency with google docs, excel, and word. A familiarity with AEA rulebooks is desirable but not required.

Compensation: $150 per week OR College Credit, $100 travel stipend

Housing provided.

Techincal

The technical theatre intern will work alongside the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director to build scenery; hang, cable, and focus lighting equipment; and create other special effects. The technical theatre intern will have the opportunity to attend production meetings and observe how a production is taken from page to stage. Intern will attend set builds, electrics calls, and technical rehearsals as needed. Intern will also work with the administrative staff by selling tickets and distributing promotional materials.

Desired Skills 

Proficiency with power tools (miter saw, table saw, circular saw, jigsaw) and a willingness to help and learn. Experiences with other building materials and familiarity with theatrical lighting equipment are desirable, but not necessary.

Compensation: $150 per week OR College Credit, $100 travel stipend

Housing provided.

Wardrobe/ASM 

The Costume/Wardrobe intern will assist with the Costume Designer and Wardrobe Supervisor with the creation, alteration and maintenance of costumes for each of our productions. They will be part of the process from start to finish: attending costume fittings, production meetings, and seeing what it takes to bring concepts to life on stage. The Costume/Wardrobe intern will also serve as a member of the stage crew on productions and assist with quick changes and costume maintenance for the run of the production. The Intern will also work with the administrative staff by selling tickets and distributing promotional materials. 

Desired skills 

Costume/Wardrobe Interns must be proficient with sewing and serging machines. A working knowledge of care for a variety of materials is preferable but we are willing to teach the right candidate. Design experience is also desirable.

Compensation: $150 per week OR College Credit, $100 travel stipend

Housing provided.

Dates: The duration of internships are flexible, with start dates ranging from May to July, and end dates ranging from September to December.
