Act Up Now! Acting Workshop 


The Theatre Workshop of Nantucket is offering an acting workshop led by Emmy Award winning actor John Shea. This five day intensive acting workshop is designed for anyone, sixteen or older, who wants to explore the art of transformation.  A fun, energetic and participatory class open to all levels of experience. 

For beginners - learn basic acting techniques for stage and screen. For those with experience - a chance to learn new techniques. 

CLASS SIZE: Limited. First come, first served.

WHEN: March 18 - 22, Monday - Friday,  6:00 – 8:30pm. 

WHERE: Bennett Hall,  62 Center Street {Next to the Congregational Church}.

COST: $300. 


More on the man beind the lens...

John Shea is an Emmy Award winning actor, director, writer and producer. Since his film debut in Academy Award winner Missing has starred in fifty films shot around the world. Since his Broadway debut in Yentl (Theatre World Award), he has starred in twenty plays on and Off Broadway and in London. He starred in five television series including the international hits Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman, Mutant X, and Gossip Girl. Shea has written and directed two feature films: Southie and Grey Lady, both distributed by Lionsgate. For the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket he co-produced forty productions and is currently Artistic Director Emeritus. A graduate of Bates College and the Yale School of Drama, Shea lives on Nantucket with his wife, the artist Melissa MacLeod, and their two children Miranda and Caiden.
